Why Leasing Companies Accept Wraps

A lease contract cares about the condition of the vehicle on the day you return it. The concern is permanent change, not temporary appearance.

Quality cast vinyl is engineered to be removed. Applied to healthy factory paint and taken off with heat by someone who knows what they are doing, it leaves no trace.

Repainting is the opposite. A respray permanently alters the factory finish and will be flagged at the return inspection as a modification.

Three things to confirm in your agreement

• The modification clause. Most contracts restrict alterations that cannot be reversed, and wraps generally fall outside that wording.
• The excess wear standard. This defines what counts as damage. Original paint in good condition satisfies it.
• Return condition language. Some agreements state the vehicle must come back in its original colour, which simply means removing the wrap before the appointment.
